Meet Attorney
Rebekkah Mouw
Rebekkah (Bekka) Mouw is a Sioux Falls attorney with a background in political science, history, conflict studies, and over a decade of combined legal and advocacy experience. After working within traditional legal systems, she recognized how deeply people needed a different approach—one that honored both the law and the human beings impacted by it. Bekka has been an attorney since 2016 and is licensed in South Dakota Circuit Court, Federal Court, and Bankruptcy Court. She has represented hundreds of individuals and families across divorce, custody, protection orders, guardianships, personal injury, estate planning, and constitutional litigation. She serves as chair as the State Bar's Legal Services Committee and sits on the Pattern Civil Jury instruction Committee. She is also a certified Parental Coordinator, published author, a mother, wife, animal lover, and born in Sioux Falls.
The heart of her work is shaped by three core themes in her life:
parenting, practicing law, and witnessing systems of oppression at home and across the world.
Her "Why"
Parenting three young children transformed how Rebekkah understands power, connection, and responsibility. Gentle, respectful parenting taught her that the way we treat children is the blueprint for how we treat society, a philosophy she carries into her own legal practice: connection over control, clarity over intimidation, and humanity over hierarchy.
Working inside traditional profit-over-people legal systems sharpened this conviction. She saw first hand how efficiency, authority, and "winning" often overshadow dignity and truth. This was true in private practice and in legal aid models where government funding stifled meaningful change. Those experiences pushed her to practice law differently, to insist that justice rooted in humanity is the only justice that truly restores.

Our Mission: Justice as Restoration
Rebekkah founded Mouw Law because she believes civil justice is restorative at its core. It is the act of defending a piece of your identity that was harmed by either violence, negligence, or coercive systems. For you or your family, restoration can look like reclaiming:
-
physical safety
-
financial condition
-
health or physical body
-
your confidence or peace
-
or simply the ability to exist without intrusion
Sometimes justice is a settlement.
Sometimes justice is protection.
Sometimes justice is a courtroom.
And sometimes justice is found in the very act of telling the truth with clarity and coherence inside systems that resist hearing it.
Why Clients Choose Her
Rebekkah brings both legal strategy and human understanding into every room she enters. She listens deeply, communicates clearly, and protects fiercely. Her clients feel seen, supported, and empowered through the process.
